Ben Halima finished memorizing The Quran in 16 years only in means of transport
When I started praying, I only knew Surah Annaas.
At the first prayer I said behind the imam, I learned Fatiha. I stayed like that for a few days knowing only Fatiha and Annas. A traveller entered one day in our mosque and chatted with me. Then he asked me to recite the Fatiha and I recited. Then he asked me to recite Annas and I recited. Then he asked me to recite Falaq and I said: "I do not know that surah". He got angry with me: "How do you pray and you don't know falaq ?!" "And said to me:" Take a Qur'an and learn!
I began to learn the next surah and the next until after sixteen years I finished the Quran
No one else had motivated me to learn the Quran and I never gave time or went to a particular place to learn: it was in the downtime, most often in transport and when the brothers were chatting unnecessary things, and I revised in my prayers.
Everyone has only to see how much time they have wasted and how many chances they have overlooked;
We are missing so many opportunities to learn while forgotting about what you have already learned because we have been soo lazy...
